Overview
Star Energy Geothermal is Indonesia’s leading geothermal energy producer.
As Indonesia’s leading geothermal energy producer, Star Energy Geothermal’s combined operations in Wayang Windu, Salak, and Darajat are capable of producing renewable energy to meet the electricity needs of millions of homes in Indonesia.
In April 2017, the Star Energy Geothermal Consortium completed the Share Sale and Purchase Agreements for the Salak and Darajat geothermal fields, which together generate 413 MW electricity and supply 235 MW of steam. This transaction is a major step towards our vision to be the world’s largest and leading geothermal company.
Our current operational highlights are:
In Pangalengan, Star Energy Geothermal Wayang Windu Limited operates a geothermal facility with a gross installed generation capacity of 230,5 MW.
In Sukabumi, Star Energy Geothermal Salak, Ltd. manages one of the largest geothermal fields in the world, with a gross installed generation capacity of 201 MW and steam sales capacity of 180 MW.
In Garut, Star Energy Geothermal Darajat II, Limited has a gross installed generation capacity of 219,5 MW and steam sales capacity of 55 MW.
Aligned to our vision to be the largest and leading geothermal company in the world, Star Energy Geothermal aims to acquire the lowest risk geothermal opportunities including both brown and green geothermal fields. Two such current prospects are in Gunung Hamiding, North Maluku Province and South Sekincau, Lampung Province, to help further mainstream renewable energy into the nation’s electrical supply.
